Self-Confidence Comes from the Soul

Self-Confidence Comes from the Soul

I’ve been playing at photography for some time now. I’ve put up a fair number of pictures on my Flickr account, but I haven’t really taken pictures regularly. My technique hasn’t developed at all; I’m still using the same equipment in the same ways.

It’s time to experiment. It’s time to grow. It’s time to force myself to become a better photographer.

I’m going to post a picture a day for a year.

I’m going to try different settings, filters, vantage points, and equipment. I’m going to branch out into portrait photography. I’m going to travel and shoot things that are as new to me as they are to my portfolio.

But wait, there’s more!

As this post so clearly illustrates, I could bear some *ahem* minor improvement to my writing skills. I’m going to tackle this by writing in-depth captions/stories about the shots I take and by writing a weekly (possibly more frequent) post that will warrant every blogger’s favorite accronym—TLDR.

You, fair reader, may get more than you’ve bargained for however; I’m going to take Socrates’ advice and start paying some attention to what goes on around me and in my head. I will without warning(!) interject these thoughts onto this blog as well. You have been warned.

I’m hoping to hone a number of skills with this project. If you guys see things that need improvement, let me know. That’s the point.
